We are very excited to announce that we will be hosting our good friends Union Thugs from Montreal on their Ontario tour when they come to Hamilton to play some of their spruced of versions of many classic labour songs with many of their epic originals as well.

Union Thugs have specialized in playing music to bring up the spirits of workers at active picket lines all over the country and their work building working class self determination is definitely worth checking out in person! The event will take place at the Tower at 778 Barton st E. Check out a documentary about their band below!

Accessibility statement for The Tower:

The Tower has a manual front door – measuring 33 inches wide – with no steps leading in to the main space. The Tower washroom is an individual stall open to all genders. However, this washroom is located down a flight of stairs in the basement. There is a McDonald's across the street with gendered, accessible washrooms that visitors to our space use often and without issue. We understand and regret to have only this option on offer as we know it creates an unjust barrier to some people.

The Tower is – and always will be – a space collectively funded by sustainers that remains free for everyone else. This means that events are open to all and operate on a pay-what-you-can basis, with the policy that no one be turned away. Our space is along major bus routes.

Children are welcome at The Tower, and are free to be children. We even have a kids corner! But, it may be wise to check in with individual events to determine whether or not you find the content appropriate for them.

The Tower makes attempts to use less scented products, but is not a scent-free space. It is also not a nut-free space. It is open to dogs – service animals or companions – so long as they are not a danger or disruption to any humans using the space. In these ways, our space may not be an accessible space for you if allergies to any of these things preclude your participation.

The Tower is not a sober space and we support people's participation in our events regardless of their relationship to substances. However, we expect that you will compose yourself in a way that demostrates a respect for other people in the space and the space itself. Refusal to do so could result in a request to leave and a future conversation.
