Join us for an evening with fellow McMaster alumni featuring a talk by Mac grad and world adventurer Julie Angus ’97, and a tip of the hat to Ken Hall' 55.
Julie is an inspiring speaker who wears many hats: adventurer, scientist, bestselling author, documentary film producer, and entrepreneurial boat designer. She was the first woman to row across the Atlantic Ocean from mainland to mainland. She has also cycled across continents, rowed thousands of kilometers of coastlines and rivers, and sailed ancient Phoenician trading routes to research the olive tree. And her adventures continue, with a planned autonomous Atlantic crossing.
It's easy to see why Explore Magazine listed Julie as one of North America’s leading adventurers and she's regularly seen in the media.
Before becoming an adventurer, Julie studied and developed treatments for heart disease, cancer and genetic ailments. She has two undergraduate degrees with honours from McMaster University (Biology and Psychology). Read more about Julie here.
Following the lecture we will be hosting a special reception to honour our longtime volunteer and two-time McMaster Alumni Association President, Ken Hall, on his recent honorary degree.
